My career was in the YMCA as a program director, executive director, regional director, and starting in 1990, was the primary staff at the Seattle YMCA for building development. I added oversight of all Seattle YMCA facilities in 2004, which included the annual capital improvements and the on-going maintenance. When I officially retired in 2012 from the Y, I started Avalon Project Management and Consulting. During my tenure I worked on the development of 10 new YMCA’s, seven major expansion projects, 3 camp projects, 2 land acquisition for a Senior living non-profit and a 3 floor tenant improvement for a for profit in an historical registry building
I have a bachelors of science in zoology, and graduate studies in speech and hearing. I have various building and facility certification with the YMCA and a certificate in Green Building from San Francisco institute of Architecture.
